We will also discuss main idea and details and work on comparing/contrasting. We will also discuss nouns and verbs. We will continue to work in our centers on raz-kids. Please encourage your child to use this at home. Math: In Math, we will continue working in Unit 3. We will be talking about the frames and arrows routine, dimes, counting pennies, nickels and dimes, and working with the calculator. We will continue to work with basic facts on xtramath.com. Encourage your child to use this at home. Writing: This week we will start our new writing unit on Informative writing! Fundations/Spelling: This week in Fundations, we will practice reading, writing, and spelling action words with suffix -s. We will continue to practice writing and marking base words and suffix -s all this week. Trick words: where, there, and here. We will take our Unit 6 Fundations test on Friday! No spelling words this week! . 12/14: Book Swap! 12/18: Holiday Sing-A-Long @ 9:15. Parents are welcome to attend! 12/23: Early Dismissal! 12/26-1/1: Winter Break! Notes & Reminders Tip of the Week! Math: Practice counting back words when counting down to Christmas! Reading: Remind your child to use their reading strategies when figuring out an unfamiliar word. They can use the picture, clues in the sentence, word chunks and patterns, and beginning sounds when reading. Specials Important Note: Please have your child log on to Raz-Kids at home. It is great for them to practice reading on those on-level texts.
