Note: We received an overwhelming interest to the Senior Promotion Information Session! Great feedback and excellent tips in going forward with future sessions. We have updated the PowerPoint slides (that were originally presented at the January 27, 2017 session) to include more information around the documents required for a senior promotion and the overall promotion process. Associate Professor and full Professor WHAT? What is a Senior Promotion? Senior promotion refers to promotion to the academic ranks of Associate Professor and full Professor .

impact, importance and innovation WHAT? Promotion is not granted as a reward for long-term service, but rather to recognize those who have excelled in specific aspects of the academic mission. Your academic activities (from the date of your last promotion) should showcase impact, importance and innovation at a national or international level.

What? The successful candidate for promotion will be expected to have established a wide reputation in his or her field of interest, to be deeply engaged in scholarly work, and to show him or herself to be an effective teacher.
