then Ancient Roam, to view and print maps Select Historic
Zoom Tool to zoom in to a location or Search for a location The Timeline shows the availability of maps for the location and view level for each decade. Decades highlighted in blue mean there are maps available - click to select a decade to view the maps Zoom Tool to zoom in to a location or Search for a location
The Overview Map shows your location using contemporary maps.
Map Information Map Information enables you to view details about the current map. Panning and zooming will change the information shown.
Click Save – My Map Enter a title Click Save Save as screen image enables you to create simple images of historical maps to save to your computer which can then be embedded in documents as either PNG or JPEG.

2up View The 2 up View shows two historic maps of the same location but from different decades, at the same time. This allows places to be shown side by side to see how the landscape has changed over time.
Generate a file for printing Print the map Click the icon to create a PDF of the map, which can be printed. Options are given on the left for customisation. Add map title, choose print format Option to include annotations, gridlines Move map around in preview
Choose Historic Download
Historic Download allows you to define an area you want data for and to select the particular historic map products you need
Search for a location by place name, postcode, grid reference, coordinates or by clicking on the map
Or draw a rectangle to specify the area you want to download data for Extensive Help Pages Or draw a rectangle to specify the area you want to download data for
See more information about each product select ‘Info’ link Once you select your area, Select Data Product(s) and Add to Basket, give your download a name
You will receive 2 emails, first email will tell you that the order has been received, second email will tell you your order is ready for download and show a green ‘Download your data’ button. When you click on this button you will see this screen – Click on the ‘Download’ button to start the download.
