What is Design and Technology? Technology means technical studies. It covers a wide range of knowledge in industrial fields such as computer studies, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, practical skills in hand tools and machinery, etc.  Technology — technical studies

What is Design and Technology? Design and Technology is a way to let us to do design work with different materials and to apply their knowledge of “Design” and “Technology” in Problem-solving activities.

Curriculum of Design & Technology The curriculum of Design and Technology not only stresses on the manipulation of tools, but also emphasizes the suitable choice of materials as well as creativity during the project works. The curriculum can be divided into five main areas: -

Curriculum of Design & Technology 1. Pre-requisite Knowledge leading to Design Process Design Fundamentals Studies on materials

Curriculum of Design & Technology 2. Technological Studies Manipulation of tools Basic techniques Application of scientific knowledge

3. Actual Design Process Problem solving activities Curriculum of Design & Technology 3. Actual Design Process Problem solving activities

Curriculum of Design & Technology 4. Analytical & Critical Studies Materials Functional / Operational Production methods Historical and cultural development of technology

Curriculum of Design & Technology 5. Communication Techniques Sketches Charts, diagrams Plans, elevations and sections Simple projections Perspective drawings Illustrative drawings
