College application process Select your colleges of choice. Update your list of colleges on Naviance/Family Connections. Know your deadline dates. Complete and Submit applications to the colleges. On Naviance, request letters of recommendation online. Remember you should have already spoken to your teachers requesting recommendations. Should be available mid-September. Submit a completed transcript request form at least 15 school days before the college deadline. (paper copy to the registrar)

College application Points to consider If you are using the Common Application be sure to complete the FERPA waiver on the Common Application website. Connect your Common Application to the Family Connections program. Be sure to use the same email address Remember to bring any secondary/counselor reports if needed when you turn in the paper copy of the transcript request form to the registrar. Request test scores to be sent to colleges from SAT (www.collegeboard.org.)/ACT (www.actstudent.org) Coalition Application – Naviance is not compatible for sending transcripts and recommendations. (NOT the best choice.)

What is the ACCUPLACER? The ACCUPLACER is a College Board placement test, NOT an entrance exam like the ACT or SAT. The ACCUPLACER is used, not for admission to college, but to place students in appropriate course levels after admission. Many colleges administer the ACCUPLACER to determine appropriate math and English placement if the admitted student does not have qualifying scores on the ACT or SAT.
