Generating Circuit Equations Label all voltages and resistors. Label all currents; pick direction. Label loops. Label nodes. Make loop equations; start at node. *see next slide for rules Make node equations. Set up system of independent equations.

For each loop … Start at node; go to first component Voltage source – V positive if you come to negative terminal first Resistor – IR positive if you come to the resistor going against the current

For each node … Start at node Currents into node are positive; currents out of node are negative. Sum of all currents at node are zero.
