Unit 8 Mobile App Development Task 1 Jack Powell-Kaye

Introduction This presentation will show the features of two apps. The two apps that it will be explaining are a City guide to show people how to navigate around their local area and what is available to them and the second app is a Car test App that teaches you some of the basics for your theory test.

City Guide - GRACE The purpose of this app is to help tourists to navigate around a city of their choice. This is aimed at tourists and people who are interested in discovering new places. URL - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.techmay.cityguide&hl=en This is app is to help the user/person navigate around their current location and what the local area has to offer. This is a Free App from the Android play store ONLY! This app does not require any plugins the only thing you need is your location.

City Guide Easy Navigation - It is easy to use as it gives you a list of options/places to go on the home screen. If you don’t have your location on it will tell you to turn it on and give you guidance on how to do so. Informative - It gives you the location of the places you want to go then also gives you the website link/URL, Phone Number however it does not give you ratings and reviews on the café’s and attractions. What does it show you - It shows you ATM’s, Banks, Café’s, Post Office Maps – It gives you a map on how to get to the place you want to go and it also gives you the address of where it is. Voice recognition – It does not have voice recognition or text to speech

Usability and accessibility The City Guide App does not have any form of help for dyslexia, dyspraxia, irlen one of the main things is that the background is because its white and white is one of the hardest colours to read from coming for experience as I’m dyslexic so there could be a system to be able to change the colour of the background

Home screen of App This is where you can choose from a wide range of category's that will show you what you want that is close to your current location.

What the category's show you ATM Machines Restaurants This is two of the many category's that you can choose from these two in particular are showing where the nearest ATM machines and restaurants are near you.

How the category's/places help you When you select one of the options in the category's it will show you everything you need to know to find/contact the company it even gives you a map to show you the directions where it is located you just click on “Directions”.

Car Test Free The purpose of this app is to help people learn their theory test. This is a Free App that is on multiple platforms Android, Mac OS x, iPhone/iPad and Windows 8 This app does not require any plugin.

Car Test Free Easy Navigation - It is easy to use as it gives you a list of on the right hand side and gives you a help button if you are confused or just need support with something. Informative – It gives you the option to practice then go take a mock test to see if you have progressed. What does it show you – It shows you Highway Codes, Mock Test, Hazard Perception Voice recognition – It does not have voice recognition or text to speech

Usability and accessibility The Car Test Free App does have a dark mode feature which helps with dyslexia as the white does not over power the font however it needs text to speech for those that struggle with hearing.

Sidebar Category's The side bar allows the user to select what they want to learn/practice they can choose what subject they want to do such as hazard perception or highway code.

Practice Category's This section allows you to practice individual category's i.e Safety and your vehicle.

Mock test The mock test allows you to see your progression on how well you are doing whilst also focusing on all category's
