Pressure Ulcers are Painful, Inconvenient, and Common 2.5 million people are diagnosed every year. Can lead to complications. Infection Decreased quality of life Pressure ulcers are painful and inconvenient. 2.5 million people are diagnosed every year. Pressure ulcers cost hospitals $10 billion every year. Each pressure ulcer costs the hospital over $40,000. Pressure ulcers can lead to complications later in treatment. Stage 3 is irreversible.
