Inverse Operations:

Inverse Operations: The inverse of raising a number to the nth power is finding the nth root of a number.

nth Root:

Principal Root: The nonnegative root, when there is more than one real root and n is even. Ex. 49 has two square roots, 7 and -7, since 72 and (-7)2 both equal 49. • So 7 is a principal root.
