How to Become a Leader

Leadership - Definition Leadership has been described as the “process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”.

Leadership - Important Leadership is one of the most relevant aspects of the organizational context. However, defining leadership has been challenging.

Introduction Some people are born leaders. They manage to gain respect from peers and subordinates because of the way they conduct themselves.

Important It is not always necessary to be born with the capacity to lead in order to become a natural leader. Sometimes it may just mean tapping into available resources and using them wisely.

Leadership - Tips As a leader, you need to interact with your followers, peers, seniors, and others. To gain their support, you must be able to know some tips.

Perform a Self-evaluation Natural leaders consistently take an objective view of themselves so they can in turn assess the people and situations that occur around them. Take an inventory of strengths and weaknesses and determine goals for improving and evolving into a better version of self.

Pursue Mentors Pursue mentors who are proven natural leaders. All natural leaders need some help from willing mentors. It is not necessary to mimic a mentor. It is valuable, however, to understand why thoughtful people think what they think.

Become a Critical Thinker Many times leaders have to develop mental strategies to help people to think and understand: What are they doing? Why are they doing it?

Read about Leadership Read several different views on leadership. It is not necessary to agree with everyone’s theory on leadership, but it helps to understand personal views on natural leadership.
