Fundamentals of Acute Stroke and Treatment Course (FAST) Dates : 7th March, 14th March, 21st March, 28th March, 4th April(Chippenham) plus MCQ Exam on 2nd May 12.30 – 16.00 09.00 am to 5.00 pm Venues: The Academy, Great Western Hospital , Swindon. Training Room 1, Chippenham Hospital 7th March sem 4 14th March lec 2 21st March Resus Room 28th March lec 2 4th April training room 1 Chippenham Exam 2nd May sem 4 This intensive course is appropriate for Registered Nurses and Allied Healthcare Professionals who care for patients with acute stroke. The course follows the patient journey from acute hospital admission through to re-enablement and discharge home, or through to end of life care. The course runs over 5 weeks, plus a three hour multiple choice examination. In addition to the course, there is an expectation that students will study in their own time, as revision of learning will be necessary to achieve successful completion of the assessment.
