Station #3 Jesus cures and comforts the sick

Jesus loves people who are SICK Jesus loves people who are SICK! He LOVES to visit them and comfort them. Sometimes, He even CURES them! Right now, Jesus visits and touches sick people in the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.

The Letter of James 5:13-15 13 Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praise. 14 Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord, 15 and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.

Who MINISTERS the Anointing? Bishops and priests anoint the sick.

Who gets Anointed? With what? WHO: A baptized person who is seriously ill or whose health is suffering because of age WITH: Oil of the Sick, blessed by the bishop on Holy Thursday

O, no! That Desk is seriously SICK! “Do I have to go to school today?” Pretend to be a Priest, and ANOINT the Sick Desk. HOW?

How to Anoint? First, lay your hand on the sick Desk’s head in silence. Then dip your thumb in the oil of the sick and anoint the Desk’s forehead, saying “Through this holy anointing, may the Lord in His love and mercy, help you with the grace of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”

Then anoint the Desk’s right palm, saying “May the Lord, Who frees you from sin…” Then anoint the Desk’s left palm, saying “…save you and raise you up. Amen.”

The GRACE of Anointing Spiritual healing and comfort Union with Christ in His suffering When God grants it, physical healing too! Sister Marie Simon-Pierre had Parkinson’s disease. She prayed to God through St. John Paul II and was cured!
