Thanksgiving What is it???

Why do we celebrate Thanksgiving? The Pilgrims came from England to live in America It was very cold and they didn’t know how to survive The Native Americans gave them food They had a feast to celebrate Now we give thanks for our food, our homes, our family, and help from other people

Who were the Pilgrims? People who came from England to live in America Because they were not free to practice their religions in England (they were Puritans and Protestants, a type of Christianity) They were poor. They came with their families, a little food, a little money, a little clothing…

Who were the Native Americans? They lived in America for thousands of years before They came from Asia, through Alaska There are hundreds of tribes with different cultures and languages Today their culture is in danger, there are not many tribes and many people don’t know the languages
