The Nile River The Nile River’s flood was very dependable and much more gentle than The Tigris and Euphrates’ floods were. This made the Nile easier to use for farming.

They planted wheat, barley and flax seed in the wet, rich soil. Flax seeds were used to make cloth.

Deserts The Nile on its west has the Western Desert (Sahara Desert) and on its east it has the Eastern Desert

Papyrus Papyrus- a reed plant that grows up along the shore of the Nile River. Egyptians used it to make baskets, sandals and even river rafts. Most importantly they used it to make PAPER!
