To _____ vs. -ING Some verbs in English are followed by “to ______” . The three famous ones are want, need, and decide I want to go. NOT I want going. You need to study. NOT You need studying. We decided to stay. NOT We decided staying. When you use these verbs with another verbs, use “To ___” Some verbs in English are followed by “–ING”. The three famous ones are enjoy, mind, and feel like. I enjoy going NOT I enjoy to go. I don’t mind studying. NOT I don’t mind to study. I feel like staying. NOT I feel like to stay. Unfortunately, there is no rule about this, you just have to memorize them. Fortunately, most verbs can use to_____ or – ING with no change in meaning: I love to cook. I love cooking. I hate to work. I hate working.

We can use like when we talk about things or activities. Write these words in the correct group so that it is true for you.
