EMBRYO: 3 weeks – 8 weeks

FETUS: 9 weeks to Birth

4 months …..the PLACENTA continues to transfer nutrients/oxygen from mother to fetus and screens out many potentially harmful substances…….TERATOGENS are harmful agents such as drugs/viruses.
