Step Five--- Introduction: Once you have fully developed your thesis through body paragraphs, you will write an introduction that introduces the person or problem you have written about. You will also include your thesis statement in your introduction. Rough Draft Due: Thursday, Dec. 4th; Book Report for Term II due this Friday.

Monday, 1 December 2014 Starter: After Library Rough Draft Due: Thursday, Dec. 4th Final Draft Due: Monday, Dec. 8th There will be NO chance to revise your essay, so turn in your best work! What will you do this week to successfully meet these deadlines?

Introduction: Grab your audience’s attention! Begin with an interesting quote, statistic, fact, or question for your reader to ponder. Begin your essay with background about your upstander’s life. Define what an upstander is for your reader. End paragraph with your thesis.

Tuesday, 2 December 2014 What’s Your Learning Target? Agenda: Step Six--- Library time –1st half of class! Challenge your reader to do something today, or this week, or this month. What would your upstander want your reader to do? Volunteer time at a homeless shelter? Make friends with a student who was bullied and offer your support? You will leave the reader with lasting thoughts about the person or problem you have researched. HW: Print off your Peer-edit sheet and bring to class tomorrow! Book Report for Term II due this Friday.

Wednesday, 3 December 2014 What’s Your Learning Target? Agenda: Step Seven--- Works Cited Page: Using Owl@Purdue, you will create a Works Cited Page for the essay.
