Support at Home Our Staff and Volunteers are; Carefully recruited DBS checked Trained on a regular basis Optional title slide for presentations on first aid. Please keep text on the plain background area. Can also be used for general presentations.

Support at Home The service provides short-term support for people over 18 years old, following a recent stay in hospital or after an illness. It is for people who have no support from family or friends and would therefore struggle without our assistance. Our aim is to prevent unnecessary hospital re-admissions. Support at Home The service includes: Shopping assistance Collecting prescriptions Offering companionship Support for carers How do we help people? The support offered by our Staff and Volunteers can smooth the process of settling back into a normal routine and enable people to regain their confidence and independence. Cost and Availability There is no cost for anyone using the Support at Home Service, although as a charity we can accept donations. The visits are normally one visit per week for each client. (Mon-Fri). The visits are short term, between 4-6 weeks, however assessment and review will establish if the service needs to continue from the British Red Cross or assistance can be made for alternative arrangements for a more long term solution. British Red Cross Services Mobility Aids. We provide short term loans of equipment. Arm & Shoulder Massage. This service assists relaxation and promotes a sense of well-being. Legacy. Leaving a gift in your Will can help to make sure we are always there for people who need us. Event First Aid. We provide first aid support at public events. First Aid Training. We offer public and workplace first aid courses. Fire and emergency support . When people are affected by a serious incident or emergency, we respond around the clock. Refugee support . We give vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers practical and emotional support. International family tracing.
