Reading test Reading test questions Measure: how you take in, think about, and use information Quick facts: all reading test questions are multiple choice questions based on passages Some passages are paired with other passages Information graphics, such as tables, graphs, charts accompany some passages- no math is requires You will have 65 minutes to complete 52 questions

Writing and language test Writing and language test questions Measure: how you read, your ability to find mistakes and weaknesses, and how you fix them Quick facts: all questions are multiple choice and based on passages Some passages are accompanied by informational graphics, such as tables, graphs, and charts- no math is required. 35 minutes to read 5 passages and answer 44 questions

Math test Math test questions Measures: math that you’ll rely on most in all sorts of situations Measures are designed to mirror the problem solving and modeling you do in: college math, science, and social science courses, the jobs you hold, your personal life Quick facts: most math questions will be multiple choice but some are grid ins. They ask you to come up with the answer rather than selecting an answer. The math test is divided into two portions: math test calculator and math test no calculator Some parts of the test include several questions about a single scenario 55 minutes to complete 38 questions, calculator permitted 25 minutes to complete 20 questions, no calculator permitted 80% are multiple choice 20% are grid ins

Sat essay Sat essay Measures: your reading, reading analysis, and writing skills. The sat essay is a lot like a typical college writing assignment in which you are asked to analyze a text. Taking the sat with essay shows colleges that you are ready to come to campus and write. Quick facts: sat essay is optional You have 50 minutes to complete your essay, 25 more minutes that the required essay on the old sat. You won’t be askeD to agree or disagree with a portion on a topic or to write about a personal experience.
