What’s at Stake in this Election? The State of Our Nation What’s at Stake in this Election?

Are Christians Even Suppose to be Involved in Politics or Government?

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12 “The Lord nullifies the counsel of the nations; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart from generation to generation.” Psalm 33:10-11

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.” Psalm 33:12 “The God who made the world and all things in it, …, He made from one (man), every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times, and the boundaries of their habitation, that they should seek God, …” Acts 17:24-27

Is the United States a Christian Nation? Can a nation be Christian?

1) Theonomists believe that nations should be built on God’s Law, specifically the Mosaic Law. 2) Christian theocracy - Belief that a Christian nation is one that is modeled after Israel in the old testament. 3) Some Christians believe that a Christian nation is one that is structured after a biblical blueprint. 4) Founders were Christians and that their intent was that the people of society would follow Christianity. 5) The leaders or the people have adopted Christianity as its national religion 6) The government was formed by some biblical principles and/or Judeo-Christian values. 7) The majority of people are Christians

The First Amendment (Bill of Rights) Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; …

“Let every person be in subjection to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.” Romans 13:1 “Therefore he who resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Romans 13:2-3

“Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise for the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good.” “But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath upon the one who practices evil. Romans 13:2-3

“Wherefore it is necessary to be in subjection, not only because of wrath, but also for conscience’ sake?” “For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.” Romans 13:5-7

What do you do when you don’t feel like you can vote for either candidate?
