Tsunami Early Warning System Course: Geohazard Management and Mitigation By: Lumigia Li Meco Restu Tandirerung Arif Wahyu Barokah

Objectives of System Design Natural disaster spreading which is rapid, precise and cost effective. Stage of system design aims to find the optimal form of the application to be built by considering a variety of factors, problems and needs that exist in the system. Improve the preparedness of the community to reduce the potential loss.

Technology Developments in Early Warning System for Tsunami Early warning (early warning system) tsunami which serves as a warning or emergency alarm if at any time the tsunami came unexpectedly. Need technology such as SMS Gateway in Aceh- Indonesia, DART (Deep-ocean Assessment and Reporting of Tsunamis) systems in Hawaii and many others like in Japan, etc.

SMS Gateway The instruments of system: Ranet (Radio Internet) Ranet is a technology that serves as collaboration tools related to meteorological International and similar services that work to improve and control the area perdalaman of the community access to weather, climate and information related.

SMS Gateway is a platform that provide a mechanism for EUA (application require the use of SMS) deliver and receive SMS from mobile devices (HP, PDA phone, etc.) HTML is stands for Hypertext Markup Language. HTML is used to create the page web.

d) Web Server is Web servers are the backbone of the www. Web server uses a protocol called the HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). e) PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) It is the language of form scripts placed the server and processed in server. f) Database is a collection of information stored in the computer in a systematic so it can be checked using a program computer to obtain information from the database them.

System Design Name: InaTEWS (Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System) and supported by Germany, China, Japan, France, USAID. Manager: BMKG Or Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophisycal Agency Indonesia.

All of the information/data from tsunameter, seismic and accelerometer, tide gauge and GPS Server interface

RANET with satellite (worldspace) communication line. BMKG has developed a system dissemination of information and early warning earthquake RANET the tsunami with technology use of WorldSpace satellite communication channels earthquakes to link data from the server RANET to server 5 in 1 SMS gateway. The system then deploy SMS, fax and alarm warning to registered customers on server 5 in 1 when the earthquake and tsunami.

RANET with internet communication line is modification based on satellite line. The server receive earthquakes information every 30 second from BMKG then sending the message through SMS automaticly that has registred on BMKG website (www.bmkg.go.id).
