Science Lab Safety Rules: RULE # 49 Always wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water before leaving the laboratory. WHY? Well, let’s see why.

Materials: lotion, glitter, bucket of water, hands

Procedure: Put about a nickel size dollop of lotion on your hands. Sprinkle a dash of glitter on one hand then rub hands together.

Procedure: Go greet two other students at different tables and shake their hands.

Procedure: Stop. Look at your hands. What do you observe? ( after the lab answer this question on PG4 of your science journal)

Procedure: Go back to your table and rinse off your hands in the bucket of water. What happened? What do you observe? ( after the lab answer these question on PG4 of your science journal)

Procedure: Go wash with soap for 20 sec.
