Partners
Objectives Strengthen collaboration on all levels Increase publicity of Norway Grants How to do it? Organize joint research activities Prepare joint publications
Idea Can personality, learning approach and/or teaching style affect students’ results? Prepare a survey based on experience from Norway Collect data from students and analyze it
Time plan Spring semester 2016 – preparation of the survey May and August 2016 – data collection June - August 2016 – data analysis September 2016 – summary of results, presentation
Implementation A lot of experience: Design of the survey took more time than expected Translations took more time than planned Not easy to collect enough data (promotion needed) Participants enjoyed the collaboration
Results (CZ) Agree with previous studies in Norway (H. Brovold, S. Saebo) Some personality types are disfavored (Feeling, Extroverts) Some personality types prefer certain learning strategies (Introverts, Sensing x Extroverts, iNtuitive, and Feeling x Thinking) Some personality types attend less to lecture and exercises (Perceiving, Feeling)
What next? Mathematics and Statistics Support Centres Flipped classrooms More flexible structure of the courses and study programmes Other innovations?
