Does the training of administrative personnel to work with electronic documents take less efforts than training the personnel to work with paper documents? The Bulgarian Law for Pre-school and School Education – Introduces the New National Electronic Information System of the Pre-school and School Education (NEISPUO) Includes data modules & registers Module ‘Institutions’: data about all the activities in the schools and the kindergartens – teachers, students, curriculum Register of the pre-school and school education institutions (already existing) Module ‘School Documents’: electronic format of class registers, registration books, e-archives (expected 2018 – 2020) Module ‘Students’: electronic student portfolio (expected till 2020) Register of Diplomas and Vocational Qualification Certificates (already existing)

Does NEISPUO makes Bulgarian schools paper-less? Not yet …… All the data will be inserted in the systems, but most of the documents will be still printed To be certified with the respective signatures and stamps (electronic identity still missing) For achieve purposes (not enough regulation about electronic archives) Originals of diplomas and certificates to be given to the students on certified paper

NEISPUO is still pen-less, but not paper-less….. ‘Readiness level’ .. of the school to trust electronic archives … of the society to trust electronic registers

Does the school need to get prepared? Moving to e-documentation needs also a change management decisions Does the school need to get prepared? IT-supported learning should contribute to improve the learning process of the students … The e-management should also contribute to better organisation of our school How to be successful? Clear concept and acceptance of e-documents (to avoid double standards) IT infrastructure Proper software Teachers and administrative staff ready
