First Day of School Do NOT bring a backpack on first day Lunch box and water bottle are recommended Wear comfy clothes: you’ll be sitting on the floor and moving around a lot too! Eat a good breakfast in the morning: there will be no snack break!

Materials Composition Notebook No wire spirals! Keep in class Bring to Class Every Day Red 3-prong notebook w/ lined paper(you will need a new one each quarter) Pen/Pencil Earbuds Flash Drive Book to Read

Academic Expectations

Grading Policy Kyrene District Policy Homework/Class work 20% Tests/Quizzes/Projects 80% Grades at or above an 89.5 are rounded to an “A”

Homework Your child can expect 45-60 minutes of homework every day. Serves as practice for skills learned in class Should be completed by student - It is okay to help, but working through tough problems is an important skill to be learned

Late Work Students will be expected to complete all class and homework on time. Work is assigned in order to give the student practice of a concept. In the event of an absence the student is expected to complete the work. Please note - Late work will not be accepted after the unit ends.

Attendance and Assignments All homework must be made up when absent. It is the student’s responsibility to determine missed assignments and copy missed notes upon return to class. All assignments are online for the week. (Class website)

Late Work When you miss class: 1.) Check calendar in classroom for day you missed 2.) Check pockets on blackboard, or the files in the Student Center

Student Integrity Student integrity is a mark of good character; honesty and responsibility are expected. In the event of cheating on homework or practice work, parents will be contacted and the student will receive a zero. In the event of cheating on tests – students will be referred to administration and receive a zero-this includes plagiarizing material on reports.
