POST CONSUMER PAINT RECYCLING LAURENTIDE RESOURCE ALANTIC INC.

Introduction Laurentide Resource Atlantic was formerly known as Preferred Environment. a small waste paint collecting operation in Moncton NB. With the success of recycling paint in NB and the processing of paint collected through the Nova Scotia recycling program. a much larger facility was opened in Springhill NS.

Introduction To expand, Preferred Environment partnered with the established paint manufacturer Société Laurentide. Now with a facility in Victoriaville Quebec, Richibucto NB, Springhill NS, and over 60 years experience with paint. Laurentide has been able to process and then sell recycled paint throughout Canada under the national Boomerang label and several private labels. Laurentide also has exports to markets in the Cuba, Central America and Africa.

Material diverted by LRA January – December 2016 Total Liters of paint 865,283 Total Cans recycled 856,563 Total Hazardous waste 119,752 kgs NS Liters of paint 406,836 NS Cans recycled 370,923 NS Hazardous waste 54,731 kgs

Current capacity 16 full time employees working 40 hours per week 10 hour day - 4 day week Capacity Average 5,000 gallons per day Victoriaville facility ( 80 employees ) has initiated the use of robots to perform the repetitive tasks associated with waste paint recycling. Victoriaville estimated 3.2 million gallons of post consumer paint processed in 2016
