Presentation transcript:

San Marino What region of Europe does your country belong to? Western Europe. What makes your country stand out as a European country? It is one of the wealthiest countries in the world in terms of GDP per capita. It is the oldest surviving republic in the world, being independent almost continuously since its founding in the 4th century. It has the oldest constitution still in effect. What makes your country similar to other European countries? Although San Marino is not in the EU, it is allowed to use the euro as its currency. It is administratively divided in a similar way to other countries: divided in municipalities called castellos. What makes your country different from other European countries? San Marino has the smallest population of all the members of the Council of Europe.
