What is cause and effect? Turn and talk

Cause and Effect A cause-effect relationship is a relationship in which one event (the cause) makes another event happen (the effect). One cause can have several effects.

How have people of the desert adapted to their environment? http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-news/environment/video-a-bedouins-most-prized-asset-the-camel Look for some causes in the video in the form of a challenging environment. Look for effects as examples of how the people have adapted to this environment.

What are some ways that their environment seems challenging? These environmental challenges can be considered causes.

What are some ways that the people of the desert adapted to their environment? These adaptations can be considered effects.

Cause and Effect or Environment and Adaptation The desert environment has very little water and survival is difficult for people. Cause-Environment The camel can survive without water for extended periods and find the limited supplies available, and so people in the desert domesticated this animal. Effect-Adaptation

As a group… Take turns reading. Discuss the environmental factors /cause and the adaptations/effects. Write down your answers in the space provided.
