The Ultimate Canadian Adventurer By : Thanujan, Eqan and Parvais

Intro The Canadian Adventurer is an app that allows anyone to travel throughout the nation of Canada, and allows them to experience what Canada is and who Canadians are. We have included three different “adventures” for the user to experience. One being to look for historical landmarks, sports and the food Canada offers. For this specific proposal we will be focusing on the food aspect of this app. The user is told to go through a journey through Canada and visit different restaurants that reflect and show the true identity of Canada. With each different place he visits, a QR code can be scanned to accumulate points. These points will lead to a discount towards the many restaurants you visit and much much more. More details will be given as we continue our proposal.

Components Visual- Our app has pictures of the different foods and the places where they can be found. The app also has a map detailing the different parts of the adventure. There are also QR codes at specific restaurants which offers points. Our app also has a leaderboard that compares the amount of points between you and your friends. Audio- The app offers a detailed audio guide that gives a brief history of each food and place you visit. The app also explicitly states all the ingredients in your foods. Kinesthetic- Our app has a personal interface that is extremely easy to use and it is also covered with fun facts about canadian identity.

Materials The Ultimate Canadian Adventurer App: You need the app in order to keep track of where you have gone and what food you have eaten. The app will also tell you how many points you have acquired. SmartPhone: You need a smartphone to take pictures of the QR Code at the specific restaurant/franchise/store in that province. You also need to take a picture of the specific food and post it on social media. A Social Media Account: An account in either Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to post the picture of the food and gain points. “Some money”. This Adventurer will cost money to buy meals. You will also need money for the transportation to get to the different areas. The app has

Canada’s Identity in the 21st Century This app shows people that Canada in the 21st century is multicultural, has a diverse and vast geography, and it also shows how we can use technology to learn a lot more about our nation. The people who will use this app can see all the different events that took place in Canada and what shaped it to be like what it is today. Furthermore, they can learn how Canada was like in specific periods of time, how the economy and land was doing, the multiculturalism, the traditions and how the civilians entertained one another. Our app proves and shows all of this by allowing the user to see the different sorts of cuisine, landmarks and sports at different time periods of that time.

What/Who is a Canadian in the 21st Century? A canadian in the 21st century is someone who can adapt. A canadian in the 21st century is someone who isn’t defined by their skin color but by where they live or the languages they speak as the app will show the user when they travel through different parts of Canada. The app will show the user that a canadian in the 21st century is somebody who has to follow certain rules but for following those rules they get to have the CN tower and many other landmarks of which the user will learn off when they go on their adventure.

Primary and Secondary Sources & Evidence Our primary sources include reviews from other users about the app and adventure. Other primary sources include stories from different first nation’s tribes. Secondary sources include news articles about events in your current area. The 3 evidences that we chose are the different foods, landmarks and technology . We chose the cuisine as one of our evidences because it shows multiculturalism in Canada and it also shows different types of restaurants. Another one of our evidences is the inclusion of the landmarks because we feel that the landmarks show Canada’s identity in the past in contrast to now. For example Banff National Park which was built in a time of war by those who were wrongly punished which is in contrast to how Canada treats people now. Our third evidence is the use of technology. This is partially because our conceptualization requires technology but it also gives the user an idea of the part technology has on Canada.

Additional Materials The app has a GPS and map to help guide you across all of the 10 Canadian provinces and 3 territories. The app will make sure you are on the right track in order to complete the adventure safely. The app will also have an audio guide that will briefly explain the history of the food and the area of that specific restaurant. The audio guide will also warn users about the ingredients used in that type of food so no user gets harmed while completing the Adventurer. Any source of transportation because it is almost impossible to complete this Adventurer without a car, plane or public transportation.

Available Prizes Discount at restaurants Free meals $500 Prepaid Cards Redeem shirts, sweater, hats etc. with the amount of points that you have collected. Free Night stay at a hotel. The app will pay for you. 1 Week Transportation Pass at any Canadian province or territory Completion of Adventurer: An order is placed for you to receive the Big Canadian Flag that flew on the Peace Tower. $5,000 Grand Prize for the individual who accumulated the most points when the contest
