Presentation transcript:

Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown. Newsletter Reception Class 16th September 2016 Literacy This week we have been reading ‘Funnybones’ by Janet and Allen Ahlberg. We have been talking about the alliteration that is used throughout this book. We have also had some superb discussions and have shared lots of ideas in our key groups. This week we have been learning about the different parts of our body and have been looking at the human skeleton. We also had a visit from Harold the Giraffe from the Education Life Bus. Harold showed us how to take care of ourselves and how to look after our body. Phonics This week we have learnt two new sounds which are ‘t’ and ‘p’. We have been looking at their formations and have been finding different things around the classroom that start with these sounds. We have also been learning to read our first cvc words. Maths This week we have been learning to recognise numbers 1-10. You have all tried very hard and have made excellent progress, well done! Next week we will be concentration on ordering and writing these numbers. It would be fantastic if you could do some practice at home. Notices This weeks homework is sound ‘t’ and ‘p’ in your child’s sound book. Please can everyone continue to read every night and don’t forget to practice your key words. We have decided to change P.E to every Thursday due to hall availability so please could you make sure your child's P.E bag is in school for every Thursday. Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown.
