Introduction A science and engineering fair is a contest to encourage students to try their hand at science. The types of projects entered into the fair are called inquiry based projects. Inquiry Based Projects This may sound complicated but it is not. It means you have a question that you don’t know the answer to. You develop an experiment to answer that question. Then you report your findings by making up a poster that reflects your work.

Plan on… Investigating - Developing and performing an experiment to answer a question. …or… Inventing - Engineering a solution to a problem or developing a device.

Why should YOU participate? Read the following Bible verse: “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth” Genesis 1:28 Vocabulary Term! Dominion - to have control, or to be the authority over a thing or a place. Also to have influence over something or someone.

How did man take dominion over this land?

Dominion Mandate Did you know this dominion mandate is the very first commandment God gives Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden? He also gave it to Noah after the flood, but this time added instructions about having laws and government to keep things running smoothly. Dominion Mandate - God asking humans to take control of his creation and to have influence over it so it can be used for his glory and for the needs of man. In order to do this, we need to understand his creation. We can learn a lot more about it by doing science. A science fair is a great way to get started

How can you learn more about God’s creation so you can take dominion as God asks us to? Write some thoughts down and talk to your parents or your science fair mentor.
