How to run the 4-3 Defense

The 4-3 defense was created by Hall of Fame coach Tom Landry. Defense consists of a fluid pass rusher, a good middle linebacker, and zone coverage. Geared to stop the run, but has the players needed to force the quarterback into bad decisions.

The 4-3 defense has four down lineman The 4-3 defense has four down lineman. Two defensive ends and two defensive tackles. Three linebackers, a Mike, Will, and a Same linebacker. Two cornerbacks and two safeties.

- Jarad Allen Key players in the 4-3 defense are the defensive ends. These players rush the quarterback and force the quarterback into bad decisions. Julius Peppers -

Another key component to the 4-3 defense is the Middle Linebacker Another key component to the 4-3 defense is the Middle Linebacker. The Middle Linebacker is the quarterback of every defense. He calls plays, makes tackles, and is expected to make key plays. Jon Beason - - Patrick Willis

- Nnamdi Asomugha Troy Polamalu- The last component of the 4-3 defense is cornerbacks and safeties. The defensive line and linebackers stop the run and force teams to pass. Therefor, the safeties and linebackers need to be able to cover ground and make plays. - Jonathan Joseph
