Vice-President of Academic, Welfare and Sponsorship (VPAWS) Must have one year’s experience on LUSUMA Overall responsibility for developing LUSUMA’s Academic and Welfare support systems Responsible for obtaining sponsorships from local, national and international businesses Allocation and organisation of Medic Parents Organise Medics Freshers Fair with VPSS Advise and support committee whenever necessary, assist in general activities and dealing with concerns Act as President in their absence

Social Secretary Responsible for the planning and smooth running of LUSUMA socials, including Phase II socials INTROweek and OUTROweek = lots of planning and organisation Liaise with Rockstar Promotions on behalf of LUSUMA Social dates, DJs, deals, tickets, venues…lots of meetings! Weekly ticket sales Requires good teamwork – there are two of you! Need to be creative and fun, but responsible when it counts! Time consuming but very rewarding!
Ball Secretary Organise two LUSUMA balls – Winter and Summer Venue, catering, entertainment, theme, decorations… Summer Ball – buffet-style event during OUTROweek Winter Ball – Formal, three-course sit-down meal Work with Grad Rep and Alumni & Electives Rep to deliver Graduation Ball + Yearbook (June) Requires work with other committee members (Communications Officer for publicity, VPAWS for sponsorship, Treasurer for budget) Responsible for own budgeting and money handling

Graduate & Mature Student Rep Organise Chemistry Week Graduate Christmas Meal Communicate between LUSUMA and Graduate cohort Be a presence at LUSUMA Events and helping out where possible Lots of opportunities to organise events for Grads and mature students! No more Graduate course
Sports Secretary Work with VPSS to oversee sports teams, their training times, fixtures and general needs Meet with Captains to ensure smooth running of Medic Sports and highest levels of involvement Liaise with SU, Sports and Rec, Med School, Regents Sports Passes Sports Awards, Funday Sunday in OUTROweek, Sports Night in INTROweek Varsity with Nottingham Med School (incl. finance and budgeting) Works with Treasurer, Communications Officer, Socials Have to be organised and have a passion for promoting sport!
Academic Officer New role, split off from AWI Organise and ensure delivery of LUSUMA revision sessions Develop and oversee LUSUMA revision materials Assist and direct those in need of academic support Organise and deliver Qualibuddy system Will work closely with VPAWS Attend Student Staff Committee meetings
Welfare Officer New role, split off from AWI Work with Communications Officer to deliver regular newsletter Create International Guide to Leicester Med School for International students before arriving in UK Develop LUSUMA’s welfare support schemes, including Medic Parents Scheme Act as point of contact for students’ welfare concerns (esp. international students) Socials – Grub Crawl, International Welcome Week
Alumni & Electives Officer New role Build and expand an Alumni network, including Alumni events Plan an electives evening for Final Year students Maintain LUSUMA website Electives and Alumni areas Work with Ball Sec and Grad Rep to deliver Graduation Ball and Yearbook Pushing LUSUMA into unknown territories, so requires someone with initiative and creativity!
