STORIES AND LEGENDS One legend was called The Women who ate Children. The legend about the woman who ate children is about, she was known as the ghost of the children and a protector of the children. Although she was refered to as this, every night she would go out to find babie and eat them. She had children of her own whom she left at home while she did this. One day, the townspeople got tired of what she was doing and kidnapped her children. When she returned home she was devastated to find that her children were gone. When the townspeople told her that they had her kids she begged them to give them back to her, but they responded with,"Well we don't get our children back." So, she went to Buddha to ask for forgiveness and for her children back, he forgave her, and there she was reborn as a protecter of children. One legend was called The Women who ate Children.
