Unit Title: Social Justice Focus Question: How can I make a difference? Learning Intention: To relate a Bible passage to social justice. Success Criteria: To complete a higher level thinking task relating to the topic. Last Lesson Environment This Lesson The Way of Love Next Lesson Consumerism

1 Corinthians 13 The Gift of Love Reference example: In text: (Bible Gateway 2016) In reference list:  Bible Gateway 2016, Bible Gateway passage: 1 Corinthians 13 - New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition, https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Corinthians+13&version=NRSVCE, (accessed 11 Apr. 2016). Quick Question: How should we reference the source? 1 Corinthians 13 The Gift of Love Look up the passage on www.biblegateway.com (NRSVCE edition) or use the link on our weebly. Copy and paste it into your class notebook. Highlight any words you don’t understand (we’ll work out the meaning together). Underline the most important sentence. Summarise the passage in your own words.

Explain the passage on the left in your own words and provide one or two examples.

Write down 3 things, you have learned by reading “The Gift of Love”. What real-life stories show that love is most important and can move mountains? (You can do some research here if you can’t think about any personal stories.) How can you apply what you have learned in your own life, e.g. at school or at home? How is “The Gift of Love” related to social justice? Explain. Think about a product you can advertise by using one or two quotes from our Bible passage. Explain what product would benefit from your advertisement strategy and why. (E.g. Who is the target audience?) Do you agree or disagree with the message in our Bible passage? Why or why not? Explain. Choose your own task based on your confidence on the topic! Tip: Work at your own pace, this is not a race!
