Solution Overview - Unix Provisioning Manager Unix Provisioning Manager (UPM), provides facility to configure software distribution and deployment in complete UNIX environment . Highlights UPM will help users quickly, accurately, & securely distribute and deploy software to heterogeneous platforms. The intuitive GUI will help to reduce the skill level required to deploy software, freeing up IT specialists. It will reduce the cost of provisioning and maintaining distributed environments by automatically and securely deploying software packages. Saves time and reduces human error over traditional deployments. Increases IT efficiency through automation of repeatable deployment tasks It provides solution to provision, control and monitor servers from a central console. Streamline application distribution and deployment to produce consistent, reproducible results by standard packaging in “.upm” format of all the third party software's. Media Types Media Media is the software repository available on UPM server or UPM Extended server for deployment. As per the media inheritance scope it has been segregated in below categories: Public Media : Media that is public and can be inherited or synced to downstream UPM Extended Servers Base Media ,that is uploaded on UPM Server and gets inherited to downstream UPM Extended Servers Extended Media , that is uploaded on first level UPM Extended Server and gets synced to downstream UPM Extended Servers Private Media : Media that is private and cannot be inherited. This can be uploaded on any UPM Server or Extended Server

Media ACLs Media ACL is used to filter the software syncing and distribution and applicable on Public media only. Global: Media available to all account. Account Specific: Media which is restricted to specific account/s.
