Key points of Spanish Exploration Mr. Luna Texas History 8-21-2012

Key point #1 As the Monarchies of Europe became more powerful they sought to expand their land all over the world.

Key point #2 As of 1492(Columbus) the Spanish Empire became the most powerful entity in the Western Hemisphere.

Key Point #3 The 3 G’s of Spanish exploration is what motivated many explorers to travel the “New World”.

Key point #4 Some Spanish Explorers called conquistadors came to conquer other people.

Test #1 1) Students will have to identify one characteristic between each Native American Group. 8min 2) Students will write a paragraph that compare the Government, culture, technology, and Religion of the Natives and Spanish 10 min 3) Students will find a table in the book and then have to create a bar graph of that information. *You must have least 5 items to graph.

HW: 8/27/2012 1) What methods did the Spanish employ to convert the Natives? 2) Analyze the impact of Spanish colonization on the Native Americans. Create a list of the 5 worst effects of colonization on the Native Americans.
