The main ingredients Nameplate – The name of the magazine, which is usually displayed in a specific typeface. Dateline – Month and year of the publication; often with the price. Main Image – Usually a model who is making full eye contact at the reader; generally a full bleed. Coverlines – One-line descriptions of articles found on the cover of the magazine. Their purpose is to entice the reader into picking up the magazine.

Common magazine binding options Saddle Stitch – Magazine bound by two or three heavy-gauge staples. These books can lie flat; however, saddle stitching only works for shorter books of up to 80 pages. These books also have no spine on which to print a title. Perfect – Signatures are adhered with adhesive. This is a more expensive option. Minimum page limit is 48, but 80 pages or more is ideal.
