Christ, The Master Builder
Christ, The Master Builder
Christ, The Master Builder Colossians 1:16…All things have been created through Him and for Him.
Christ, The Master Builder
Christ, The Master Builder Values Jesus likely learned as he grew up under Joseph’s training: “Discover the potential within the wood” “Transform the rough into the useful” “Meet needs” “Build to last” “Never settle for poor workmanship” “Restore whatever can be saved” “Waste nothing”
Christ, The Master Builder Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. (Ps. 127:1)
Christ, The Master Builder What it does NOT mean:
Christ, The Master Builder What it does NOT mean: He does everything and we do nothing.
Christ, The Master Builder What it DOES mean:
Christ, The Master Builder What it DOES mean: A cooperative relationship between us and Holy Spirit. His job is to lead, guide, direct. Our job is to follow. His job is to empower. Ours is to step out in faith. His job is to give us SPIRITUAL GIFTS. Our job is to DISCOVER and DEVELOP them. His job is to impart life. Our job is to embrace it. His job is to work IN us and THROUGH us. Our job is to work OUT that which He has worked IN. We cannot do what only He can do. He will not do what He has called us to do. We work TOGETHER.
Christ, The Master Builder Heavy carpentry…is no solitary occupation. Partners quickly accomplish jobs that would be difficult for a lone worker…working in tandem also offers the intangible benefit of companionship. Shared work also encourages the shared pride of watching a house rise form the floor joists to ridge board.
Christ, The Master Builder Question: WHY does God call us to serve with Him?
Christ, The Master Builder Answer: Is. 43:10… “You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servants whom I have chosen, so that you may know me, and believe me, and understand that I am he.

Christ, The Master Builder INDIVIDUAL… (Psalm 139:23) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. What do you want to work on together with me in MY heart? What attitude, habit, or character issue needs to change?
Christ, The Master Builder FAMILY… (I Timothy 5:8) If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. What do you want to work on together with me in MY heart? How can I better SERVE my family as a parent, a spouse, a sibling, a child?
Christ, The Master Builder CHURCH (Acts 2:42, 44-47) What do you want to work on together with me in MY heart? How can I better SERVE this church, and SERVE WITH this church? PGP (passion, gifts, personality)
Christ, The Master Builder COMMUNITY (neighborhood/city)—Jeremiah 29:7 “Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” What do you want to work on together with me/us in my/our heart? How can I/we better SERVE this community?
Christ, The Master Builder NATIONS (Rev. 5:9) And they sang a new song: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation. What do you want to work on together with me/us in my/our heart? How can I/we do better at SERVING the nations in Jesus’ name?
