Now, where do you think this?

These are in the same place These are in the same place! They are located in a town called Calais; it is in northern France.

In a certain part of Calais, there is a place known as ‘The Jungle’ In a certain part of Calais, there is a place known as ‘The Jungle’. Lets look at some pictures of ‘The Jungle’.

Why do you think it is called ‘The Jungle?’ Who lives there?

Refugees live here. We have learned about these already Refugees live here. We have learned about these already. There are nearly 10,000 living here. They have had to leave their own countries because of war or poverty. Many have no money and no food.

Many children ‘live’ in the Jungle.

The refugees sleep in tents and wash in these sinks

Each day the refugees can receive donations Each day the refugees can receive donations. Each day the donations are different. They must line up to receive these items. They can queue up to 3 hours to get these things. This is a very long time.

Volunteers come from different parts of the world to help the refugees living in these terrible conditions. Volunteers have different duties. Lets have a look at what they do.

Other volunteers help take in deliveries Other volunteers help take in deliveries. These come from all around the world. When they take in these donations they must put them in the correct order so they can quickly be donated to the refugees.
