Academic Goals 1.) Increase the number of students who are scoring advanced on the OCCT Tests, by 3 %. 2.) Increase our reading and math test scores on the OCCT by 3% as compared to the 2009-2010 scores.

Monitoring for results PLC groups by department Generating Benchmark tests for all subjects through USA Test Prep. Instructional Data team to collect and interpret the results from Benchmarks Teacher’s take results back to the classroom and implement differentiation through research based strategies. Shared teaching- pairing student weaknesses with teacher strengths. Professional Development-Ruby Payne with all secondary staff. Implementation of research based strategies by instructional coaches

Goal 1: Provide quality curriculum and instruction that prepare all students for the future in a technology based society. Provided several training classes for the new e-mail and calendar systems. Provided professional development for all teachers on test taking strategies. Sent 4 teachers to a conference on Differentiation. Hosted the Chinese students for a day and they talked with classes about the Chinese culture. Took the GTO students to Tahlequah on a field trip so they could experience the Native American culture. Provided the 8th grade students the opportunity to take the Explore test.

Goal 1:Continued Took a group of GTO students to the Ropes Course for a team building exercise. Provided a trial run through for all teachers who are using USA Test Prep.

Goal 2: Provide a safe and caring learning environment for all members of the school community. Had Franklin Hall give a presentation about bullying. Held student forums so all students are aware of the expectations. Send staff members to the district safety meetings. Used the Spartan time for drug awareness during Red Ribbon Week for the entire student body. Worked with PTO on more intensive bullying curriculum Used Spartan time to cover Cyber Bullying with entire student body. Sent staff members to the “Mean Girls Conference” to get ideas on ways to handle bullying issues.

Goal 3: Attract and retain qualified, competent, caring teachers and staff members. Book Study with Dr. Barbar during the summer. Used professional development days before school so all teachers are prepared for the first day. Used the instructional coaches for a presentation to all staff on professional development. Provide Spartan time so that teachers can meet during the contract day and work on the PLC process. PTO provided dinners to the staff during the parent/teacher conference schedule. Purchased books for all staff to prepare for the Ruby Payne speaker during the next professional development day.

Goal 4: Communicate effectively with all members of the school community and encourage community involvement. Made sure that PTO had a place to set up during schedule pick up and parent orientation. Used the ConnectEd system to communicate with staff and parents. Update the sign in front of the middle school regularly to get information out to parents. Used the parent orientation night so that parents could be involved in their students schedule and meet teachers. Recruited some Dads for the Watch Dog program. Provide parent teacher conferences for communication with parents.

Goal 4: Continued Hosted various fundraisers at local restaurants for the PTO. Students collected toys for the Bixby Community and donated them during a school wide assembly. The GTO group hosted a “Stuff a Bus” event and they attempted to fill a bus with toys to be donated.

Goal 5: Achieve annual district financial targets. PTO sponsored a very successful write-a-check campaign. Discontinued the contract with an outside service for the maintenance of the flower beds in front of the school. PTO was able to grant almost 9,000 dollars in teacher grants with the money from the write-a-check campaign. PTO sponsored a very successful Dodge ball tournament.

Goal 6: Provide quality facilities. STUCO took over maintenance of the flower beds in front of the school. Ordered more tables for the cafeteria. Continued to promote using the paper recycle bin in front of the school. Cleaned the fence row before winter break so the facilities would be clean during the break. Thoroughly cleaned the gym so we can keep a certain level of cleanliness.
