Therefore, thermal energy will flow into the cold drink from its warmer surroundings, while thermal energy will be dissipated from the hot water to the cooler surroundings. Eventually, both drinks will reach room temperature. At this point there will be no flow of thermal energy, because there is no temperature difference. Therefore, we can say that the system ( the drinks, containers, table and surrounding air) is in thermal equilibrium. Ask can they think of any uses for this knowledge
