RD51 COMMON PROJECTS In order to support the generic development and transfer of technology to industry of new and existing MPGDs, part of the RD51 Common Fund will be used for projects in these areas. New project funding is intended to support part of the cost in the areas of common interest to the community described in the RD51 proposal:   Generic R&D projects towards developments of novel techniques, improvements of existing structures, characterization methods and dedicated tools; Developments and optimization of MPGDs for applications outside HEP Financial support of the RD51 software activities, RD51 test-beam activities, SRS activities and MPGD industrialization is not a part of this call and it is approved directly by the RD51 CB. RD51 COMMON PROJECTS, cont. The committee, consisting of the RD51 Management Board members, conveners of the relevant working group and a few selected experts, evaluates submitted proposals and makes decision about project acceptance. The results of proposal evaluation are presented to the RD51 CB during the collaboration meetings (twice a year). Support to the RD51 common projects has been approved.
