Introduction Summer Program - a set of organized activities, taking place during the summer months, designed to meet a specific need or offer youth the opportunity to achieve a specific goal. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th October 2015

Purpose The main purpose of this paper is to offer ASEAN Islamic Summer Program, semester-length customized programs identified by the words “AISP”. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th October 2015

AISP will be host by each member universities that becomes the member of Asian Islamic University Association (AIUA). Host institutions are selected based on a combination of the number of pre-evaluated course equivalencies, incoming exchange student capacity and infrastructure, and a compatible calendar. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th October 2015

Goal Primary goals of the AISP is to make international learning experiences available to every ASEAN student. Students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to study abroad are able to experience learning and living in an international setting through AISP. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th Oktober 2015

INTEREST IN PARTICULAR COURSE WHY STUDY ABROAD ? : JUSTIFICATION DESIRE TO GO ABROAD INTEREST IN PARTICULAR COURSE Reputation or teaching style that attracts students Comfortable going abroad with someone they know The assurance that credit for an exact course will be received abroad is a particularly attractive feature of AISP. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th October 2015

APPEAL OF A PROGRAM THAT IS PRE-PLANNED WHY STUDY ABROAD ? : JUSTIFICATION APPEAL OF AISP PROGRAM APPEAL OF A PROGRAM THAT IS PRE-PLANNED Comforting for parents and students – assured of the same quality teaching experience and the support of the host institution throughout the program cycle. The current ASEAN student culture increasingly leads to student selection of highly structured programs. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th October 2015

Financial Agreement Guidelines used to increase transparency of the budgeting process and the accounting of program balance.   In fall of each year, the host institution will meet with consult the IO of each partners to determine the budget and break-even enrollment number and to set the program fee. Programs may be canceled if they do not meet the break-even enrollment which is determined at the application deadline and deposit deadline. If a program does not meet the break-even enrollment at either of these points, the host institution will notify the IO and give them the opportunity to determine if it is willing to solely subsidize the program loss. If the deposit deadline has passed and enrollment drops below the break-even number, the program will not be canceled, but any financial losses as a result will be shared evenly with each partner. 2nd Meeting of AIUA 18th October 2015
