Presentation transcript:

POSITIVE COACHING SCOTLAND MORAL COURAGE Positive coaches believe in the concept of moral courage, standing up for what is right even when others disagree. Moral courage is doing the right thing because it’s right, not because it might mean winning a match/game. Positive coaches would do what’s right even if it meant losing the match/game.   Positive coaches have the moral courage to speak out when a young athlete does not show respect. Every team loves to win, but there is a right way and a wrong way to win. Winning when an athlete has cheated takes all the honour out of victory. Positive coaches would rather lose a competition with dignity as opposed to winning the game dishonestly. How do you feel when an opposition athlete cheats during competition? Cheated? Angry? Frustrated? How would you feel if one of your athletes cheated to win? Would you still feel cheated, angry and frustrated? - positive coaches would! Take some time to consider how you would react if your own athletes cheated during a competition: How would you react? What would you do? How can you prevent it happening again? Rate this tool! Give us your feedback.
