CLTs are non-profit, democratic, community-controlled and community-owned organisations, governed by volunteers, which develop assets such as housing, workspaces and community facilities, to meet the identified needs of the community. Assets are protected for the long-term and always accessible for the local community. Enshrined in the Housing and Regeneration Act, Clause 79

A growing CLT movement Over 100 CLTs. The no. of CLTs have grown by 25%. 220 homes had been built and 60 were under construction. Built by 20 CLTs. Mainly rural but handful of urban CLTs. And mostly low cost home ownership homes
