1. INTRODUCTION Denel SOC Ltd, a 100% State-Owned-Company (South African Government) Strategic Framework: Operates to Implement the applicable Government Strategic Infrastructure Programmes (SIP) Specifically SIP17: Regional Integration for African co-operation and development. In Support of Africa Vision 2063: Priority Area: STI driven Manufacturing, Industrialization and Value Addition. Our approach to working with our partners is to drive towards realizing the Africa Vision 2063 Aspirations.

3. CHALLENGES AND POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS How can we exploit these capabilities to realise the Aspirations, Goals and Priorities of Vision 2063 given? Infrastructure Funding Challenges High costs of data acquisitions POTENTIAL SOLUTIONS Unified Regional Earth Observation Infrastructure Programme (More co-ordination amongst members) - Integrated Earth Observation Requirements for the region - Joint funding of the infrastructure realization - Economic and Industrial benefits to accrue to all members

4. CONCLUSION A Regional Policy framework exists in the continent for mutually beneficial co-operation in tackling these EO infrastructure challenges. A Unified EO Infrastructure Programme is the only solution to resolving these deficiencies. Exploitation of existing regional capabilities for multiple benefits in terms of Earth Observation as well as Industry Development, as envisioned in the Africa Vision 2063.
