Presentation transcript:

Dinosaur Ridge October 5, 2011 Cameron C. #2 These round footprints indicate that the dinosaur who made them was a plant eater (herbivore). As they were carnivores , raptors possessed a “killing claw”, which was used to tear apart meat. A single swipe was powerful enough to instantly bring death to almost any animal. Although hundreds of tons of fossils have been found in Dino Ridge, most preserved in rock like this one. The hole in the side of this T-rex is not natural; it is actually a bite mark from another scavenging dinosaur. Long ago, places like Colorado were underwater and covered with crocodiles.

Dinosaur Ridge October 5, 2011 Cameron C. #2 The allosaurus was alive in the jurassic period, before the T- rex. These shells probably existed on Crocodile or Dinosaur Beach, but aren’t fossils because they are not preserved in rock. When standing on their hind legs, a triceratops like this one could be as tall as a rhino. When the Earth was first formed, it was made in layers, which showed environment changes that happened overtime. The uranium in these bones can be detected by a Geiger counter, and you can find tiny holes where marrow was.
