What did we accomplish? Created a myFields reporting app to report SCA occurrence in grain sorghum fields in KS Created new user roles on myFields site (State Controller, Specialists, Verified Samplers) Agent training session last spring to explore how to verify the sampler (i.e., control data quality) Pre- and post testing of aphid ID session Used 2016 growing season to demo the tool

Reports began in TX in April, moved through summer and fall to AL, OK, KS, AR, NC, TN, and just recently into CO and NM were added post season. *These reports trigger alerts to specialized myFields users (i.e., State Specialist).

What’s next? (feedback welcome) For myFields Development Team: Expand training for “verified sampler” role (add “trusted” data). Promote Agents by including contact information in the localized alerts/ flush out Agent role on the site (i.e. local notifications, subscriptions in profile page). New grant awarded for expanding this project: mapping, alerts, variety selection, and Agent/consultant participation. Targeting crop managers: Continue recruiting site users (account holders) in participating states (i.e. crop schools, etc.). Motivation = “push” information Inclusion of a threshold-based sample plan for crop manager and region-specific management information. Development of mobile app for reporting is ongoing.
