Episode 5 – “Route Talk”

From beginning of Episode – stop at 28:00 Sarah and her friend Dana drive the route that Jay claims Adnan took. Example driving the route At 28:00, Sarah says, “I’m going to try very hard not to bore you right now.” Let’s figure it out for ourselves without the podcast.

Let’s map it out Today’s task: What you need: Analyze each call on Adnan’s cell phone on the day Hae disappeared Map the route that Jay claims Adnan took Use the calls just for afternoon & evening What you need: Call log Map

Reliability? Cell phone evidence isn’t perfectly reliable, but it can offer clues where somebody was. It can certainly show where somebody wasn’t! (refer to “More Than You Ever Wanted to Know about Cell Tower Technology”) FAX Cover Sheet from AT&T

Compare Let’s look at some of our maps & compare them. How closely does the data corroborate Jay’s story? Does the map corroborate Jay’s story? Is it truthful enough to convict Adnan? Is it so impossible that you have to throw out Jay’s testimony? Is it somewhere in the middle?

The Jury Took only 2 hours to convict Adnan. Do you agree with the jury? With Sarah?

Map Map of relevant locations Questions: Do you trust Sarah’s driving? Does Best Buy look that far from Woodlawn High School? Leakin Park?
